Three of the five chicken wing flavors will make their national debut at Popeyes starting on Wednesday, according to an announcement made by the fast-food chain on Wednesday. Honey BBQ, Roasted Garlic Parmesan, Ghost Pepper, Signature Hot, and Sweet ‘N Spicy are some of the flavors available.
Popeyes North America President Sami Siddiqui stated, “We like to challenge the status quo and are consistently redefining what’s expected from fast food brands.”
Siddiqui went on to say that the Sweet ‘N Spicy wings have been the chain’s best-selling item since its chicken sandwich, and the Ghost Pepper wings were a “overnight success” when tested at locations earlier this year.
Popeyes claimed to have spent three years refining its recipes for wings. The new wings will go on sale in six pieces for $5.99.
Popeyes surpassed KFC last month to take the second place in the US chicken chain rankings, behind Chick-fil-A.
